Privacy Policy

Last Updated: August 13, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Preso Finance ("Preso," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the website located at presobudget.com and the services offered through it (collectively, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

At a glance
  • We collect only the information needed to provide the Services.
  • We never see or store your bank login credentials — you provide those directly to Plaid.
  • We do not sell your personal information.
  • Your data is not used to train AI models.

1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name and email address through our third-party authentication provider. If you enable optional text-message multi-factor authentication, we collect your phone number for that purpose.

Financial account information. When you choose to connect a financial account, we receive information about that account through Plaid Technologies, Inc. ("Plaid"), including account balances, transactions, account type, and financial institution details. You provide your financial institution credentials directly to Plaid — we never receive or store them. Plaid's handling of your information is described in the Plaid End User Privacy Policy, available at https://plaid.com/legal.

Information you provide. We collect information you enter in the Services, such as budgets and goals you set, financial planning inputs you choose to provide (for example, your birth year or a planned retirement age), accounts you add manually, and questions or messages you submit through interactive features.

Payment information. Subscription payments are collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). We do not store your full payment card information on our servers. Your payment information is subject to Stripe's privacy policy.

Usage information. We automatically collect certain technical information when you use the Services, such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and usage patterns. See Section 4 for how cookies and analytics are handled.

We do not collect your Social Security number, and we do not require your mailing address or date of birth to use the Services.

2. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate the Services, including organizing and analyzing your financial information and generating budgets, insights, and planning projections from your data and inputs;

  • Process subscription payments and manage your account, including enforcing free-trial eligibility limits;

  • Communicate with you about the Services, including service and billing notifications;

  • Maintain the security of the Services and detect and prevent fraud and abuse;

  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

AI processing. Some features of the Services use artificial intelligence. When you use these features, relevant information from your account — such as transaction and planning data — is processed by AI models hosted by our cloud infrastructure provider. Under our agreements with that provider, your information is not used to train AI models and is not shared with model providers.

We may use information that has been aggregated or de-identified — so that it no longer identifies you — for purposes such as analytics and improving the Services.

3. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only:

  • With service providers that process information on our behalf to operate the Services, including Plaid (financial account connections), Stripe (payment processing), and providers of authentication, cloud infrastructure and AI processing, and website analytics (see Section 4). These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us;

  • For legal reasons — when required by law, legal process, or a governmental request, or to investigate fraud, protect our rights or property, or protect the safety of our users;

  • In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case the successor remains bound by commitments materially consistent with this Privacy Policy.

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for two purposes. Essential cookies are required for the Services to function — they support sign-in sessions and security — and cannot be disabled. Analytics help us understand how visitors use our website and the Services so that we can make them better. We do not use advertising, retargeting, or marketing cookies, and we do not permit third parties to collect information about you across other websites.

Our analytics are provided by a third-party analytics service that processes this information on our behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes. Analytics information is stored in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies. Because we do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking technologies, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

Our analytics include session recordings, which capture how you navigate the Services — the pages you visit and where you select items — together with automatic reports when an error occurs, so that we can diagnose and fix problems. Text is masked before it leaves your browser, so these recordings do not capture your financial information or anything you type.

You can clear analytics information at any time by clearing your browser's site data, and you can manage cookies through your browser settings.

We do not sell your personal information, and our Services do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.

5. Data Security

We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, appropriate to its sensitivity. These include encryption of data in transit and at rest, access controls, and procedures for detecting and responding to potential security incidents. Payment processing uses Stripe's PCI DSS–compliant infrastructure. If a security breach compromises your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

Security Notice

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information while your account is active. If your subscription ends and is not renewed, we automatically delete your financial account data after approximately sixty (60) days, retaining only a minimal account record so we can recognize your account if you return.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal information at any time by contacting support@presobudget.com. We will act on verified requests within the timeframes required by applicable law. We may retain limited information where required by law or where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or enforcing our agreements. Payment records are retained by Stripe under its own retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can view and update your account information within the Services, and you can disconnect any linked financial institution or account at any time through your account settings. You may also contact us at support@presobudget.com to access, correct, or delete your personal information.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable state privacy laws, such as the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to request its deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@presobudget.com. We will verify your request using the email address associated with your account.

8. Children's Privacy

The Services are not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has provided us personal information, contact us at support@presobudget.com and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated policy on the Services and update the "Last Updated" date above, and we may also notify you by email or within the Services. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
