Preso reads your real accounts and shows you where your money actually goes — and what that could look like in the years ahead. I built it to make sense of my own finances, and I’m now sharing it with others.

The story

Why Preso exists

I started my career in financial research, building financial data products. Since then I’ve spent my career in Silicon Valley, in data roles across product, analytics, data engineering, growth, and marketing — building backends for data-intensive products and turning messy data into insights.

What kept pulling at me was the space between finance and tech. Institutions get tools built for rigor — curated data, testable assumptions, and every number traceable. I wanted to bring that level of tooling to the consumer market.

So I built the thing I wanted to use myself. Your money, your history, explained in plain language, with every assumption labeled and adjustable. The decisions stay yours.

How I build it

Principles that don’t move

Your numbers, not templates

Your budgets and projections start from your own history — up to two years of it. And every number tells you where it came from: your banks, your edits, or an assumption you can see and change.

I describe, I don’t advise

Preso shows you the math and labels every assumption. It won’t tell you what’s "optimal" or what you should do with your money. That line is deliberate, and I hold it everywhere in the app.

Plain language, always

If a sentence needs a finance degree to parse, I rewrite it. Stocks, not "equities." "How fast you assume your investments grow," not "expected return."

Your data is not the product

Subscriptions are the entire business. No ads, no data sales, no training AI models on your finances. How your connections and data are actually protected is written out in detail. Read how Preso protects your data →

You’re never locked in

You can remove a bank connection or cancel your subscription yourself, any time, from Settings — no email to me, no retention hoops. I’d rather you stay because it’s useful.
